Bill Carlucci won a bronze medal in lightweight coxless fours at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He was also an alternate for the 2000 Olympic team, but did not get to row. Carlucci competed at six World Championships, always in lightweight boats, winning a silver medal in 1998 in the eight. He also won two medals at the Pan American Games, a gold in the lightweight four in 1999 and a silver in the 1995 lightweight quad sculls.
Carlucci later did some coaching, serving as US lightweight coach at the 2003 World Championships. In 2001 he established Galloping Lane Farm, owning and operating it. The goal of the farm was to breed modern sport horses.
