Tom Darling graduated from Syracuse University in 1981, and later earned a masters’ degree from Boston University. He was on the US national team from 1981-88, competing at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, winning silver in the eights in 1984, and at the 1979, 1981, and 1983 World Championships, in various boats. Darling continued to compete as a master, winning the 2013 World Indoor Rowing Championship in his 50-54 age group. Darling also served as a grinder for the Stars and Stripes, the winner of the 1987 America’s Cup.
Darling worked in the financial services industry, later serving as manager of Agawam Trust & Management. He also is on the board of his family’s philanthropic foundation, the Tamarack Foundation.
