John Geiger competed for Vesper Boat Club and helped them win the 1900 gold medal in the eights at Paris. After the Olympics, he was ill and could not compete for Vesper at the 1900 National Association of American Oarsman (NAAO) Championships, which Vesper lost to the Toronto Argonauts. His fellow oarsman Harry DeBaecke also missed that event due to illness. Geiger later settled in Northamption, Pennsylvania.
Dates of birth/death previously given as 1 August 1877 - July 1970, but those belong to John D. Geiger per WWII Draft Cards Index.
