Chris Huntington

Chris Huntington rowed at U Cal Berkeley, where he earned a degree in rhetoric (pre-law), later adding a graduate degree in social studies (politics, philosophy, and economics) from the University of Oxford. While at Oxford, Huntington was part of the “Oxford Mutiny” before the 1987 Boat Race against Cambridge. Huntington and three other American rowers left the squad in February when they objected to the coaching and training methods of Oxford coach Dan Topolski.

Huntington was an alternate on the US Olympic team, and then represented the US at five international tournaments in the next four years. He won two bronze medals at the World Championships, in the eight in 1985 and the coxed four in 1986. He added a silver in fours+ at the 1986 Goodwill Games, and a gold medal in the eight at the 1987 Pan American Games. Huntington ended his rowing career at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the US coxed four.

Huntington spent 17-years with CNN as a financial news correspondent and producer. He then moved on to become a principal at Red Hook Renewable Energy Ventures. Huntington left Red Hook to join SkyFuel, a thermal power technology provider. He later became a partner with New Energy Fund Advisors, a consulting firm in renewable energy.
