Tony Martin rowed for the University of Pennsylvania, after graduating from LaSalle High School. In 1965 he led LaSalle to the national title in the varsity eights. At Penn Martin helped win the IRAs as a freshman at Penn, and then win the varsity IRAs in 1968-69. Martin graduated in 1970 with a degree in electrical engineering and then earned an MBA degree from the Wharton School of Business at Penn. He later settled in Kennesaw, Georgia, where he worked as a comptroller for Cytec Company.
