Tom Pollock attended prep school at Phillips Andover Academy (’61) and then studied at Harvard, graduating in 1965. Pollock rowed in the coxed four at the 1964 Olympics, pulling the stroke-oar, alongside his older brother Hughie Pollock. In 2011 Tom Pollock was inducted into the Phillips Andover Hall of Honor.
