Tom Pollock

Tom Pollock attended prep school at Phillips Andover Academy (’61) and then studied at Harvard, graduating in 1965. Pollock rowed in the coxed four at the 1964 Olympics, pulling the stroke-oar, alongside his older brother Hughie Pollock. In 2011 Tom Pollock was inducted into the Phillips Andover Hall of Honor.

After college Pollock attend U Cal Berkeley Law School. He later worked as a lawyer at law firms in New York City and San Francisco, then for companies such as US Windpower, and finally out of an office at his home. He also became a writer, publishing the novel “The Rising: Journeys in the Wake of Global Warming” in 2004. Pollock was diagnosed with a debilitating neuromuscular disease in 1977 but continued working and writing until his death almost 40 years later.
