Don Smith was a rower who competed at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics, in the eight in 1996 and in single sculls in 2000. Smith rowed in college at Syracuse University, graduating in 1990. He competed at the World Championships in 1993-95 in the eight, winning gold in 1994 and bronze medals in 1993 and 1995. He also rowed the four at the 1999 Worlds. Smith won two gold medals at the 1995 Pan American Games, in the pair and eight. He also won the 1990 Head of the Charles Regatta in single sculls.
