Jim Tew attended St. Paul’s Prep School in New Hampshire and then went to Harvard, graduating in 1966. He was only a sophomore at the 1964 Olympics where the Harvard coxed four crew finished seventh. In 1965 Tew moved into the Harvard eight that defeated Yale in the Harvard-Yale Boat Race in both 1965 and 1966, with Tew captaining the crew team in his senior year. After graduating Tew served in the Navy from 1967-70, and then spent 33 years in investment banking in Boston.
