Biography

Michel Carrega competed at four editions of the Olympic trap shooting tournament – 1968, 1972, 1976, and 1984 – and won an individual silver medal in Munich. At the World Championships he captured gold in that event in 1970, 1971, 1974, and 1979, in addition to five medals in the team event from 1970 through 1982, including gold in 1974. He was a 15-time medalist at the European Championships, including individual gold in 1968 and team titles in 1968, 1973, and 1976. Domestically, he was a 21-time French champion, including victories in the individual event in 1968, 1970, 1971, 1975, 1976, and 1979.
