Ray Arredondo competed in rapid-fire pistol for the US at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, placing in a tie for 13th. In 1988 Arredondo was in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Benning, where he later served as pistol coach for the Army Marksmanship Unit. Arredondo competed at the 1987 Pan American Games, winning one gold and two silver medals.
