Austrian diver Alma Staudinger, second wife of team-mate Josef Staudinger, participated in the 1948 London Olympics. She finished 11th in the springboard and an unfortunate fourth in the platform. Staudinger won three medals at European Championships: a springboard silver and platform bronze in 1947, and a platform silver in 1950.
Alma Staudinger was a popular model for prominent photographer Lothar Rübelt during her active diving career and some of the photographs of her are still displayed in the Austrian National Library at Wien (Vienna).
