Alexey Kuznetsov

Born in Luhansk, Ukraine, Alexey Kuznetsov became an international fencing referee for Canada. After gaining a bachelor’s degree in Ukraine in 1988 Kuznetsov moved to North America where he first coached fencers in both Canada and the United States. By 1999 he had become an international referee with FIE, officiating at multiple events including World Cups, Grand Prix events, World Championships, and the 2016 Rio Olympics. From 2013 to 2016 Kuznetsov was the national coach of the Canadian men’s foil team. In 2016 he became the President of the Pan American Fencing Confederation Federation Refereeing Commission.
