Eugene Bolden swam for the Illinois Athletic Club. He was 1920 AAU Champion in the 1-mile swim, which doubled that year as the Olympic Trials. Bolden also set a record for a 10-mile swim that he did in the Delaware River. He was a machinist’s mate, 1st class aviation, in the US Navy.
