Ray Carey was primarily a butterfly specialist who swam the 200 fly at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He also won a gold medal in the 200 fly at the 1992 Universiade. Carey swam in college at Stanford, winning the 1993 NCAA title in the 200 yard butterfly, and leading them to three consecutive NCAA team titles. He graduated from Stanford in 1995 and added a masters’ from there in 1996.
Carey went into the business world, with great success. He started with leadership positions at SlideRocket and Credit Suisse First Boston. In 2001 he became a partner with Azure Capital. In 2016 he was named Chief Operating Officer at Astute Solutions, a software enhancement company, and in 2018 he moved up to CEO. Carey also served on the board of Kelly’s Roast Beef.
