Newman Samuel competed in the plunge for distance event at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics, the only time this event was on the Olympic Program. He represented the Missouri Athletic Club. Samuel became the President and manager of the Franklin Motor Car Company. Later in life he worked as a real estate agent.
