Walter Jonas-Schachtitz was an Austrian swimmer and water polo player. He finished fourth with the Austrian team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. They qualified for the final round but lost 8-0 to Great Britain. In the silver medal tournament, they lost 8-1 to Sweden, and in the third-place tournament, 5-4 to Belgium. Jonas-Schachtitz emigrated to the United States during World War II, as he was Jewish.
