Swiss Ferdy Denzler was a swimmer and water polo player, who participated in the 1936 Berlin Games in water polo. He later became a sculptor and participated at the 1948 London Olympics in the Art Competitions in the category Sculpturing, Statues. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and at the Ecole des Arts Industriels in Genève (1924-29), and in 1930 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wien and the Ecole des Arts Industriels in Paris. In the following years, he made study trips to Italy, Germany and Egypt. Denzler produced mainly portraits and animals, and abstract sculptures. He was also involved in drawing, furniture design and medal productions.
