Biography

Austrian Greco-Roman wrestler Franz Brunner participated in three editions of the Olympics: 1952 Helsinki, 1956 Melbourne, and 1960 Rome. In Helsinki, he competed as a flyweight, while he was a bantamweight at both Melbourne and Rome. He was eliminated early on all occasions. At the 1955 World Championships, Brunner finished an unfortunate fourth in the bantamweight division. He represented Polizei SV Wien (Vienna) and was a policeman by profession.
