Hal Moore wrestled featherweight freestyle at the 1948 London Olympics. He was not favored to make the US Olympic team but at the Olympic Trials upset the favorites, Lowell Lange, the 1947 NCAA Champion, and Leo Thomsen, the 1948 AAU Champion. Moore wrestled for Oklahoma A&M, later Oklahoma State University. He was an All-American at A&M in 1951.
