Biography

Ivica Frgić wrestled for Yugoslavia throughout the 1970s in over 400 matches. The highlight of his career was winning the 1975 European Greco-Roman title at 57 kg. He also won silver medals at the 1976 Olympics and the 1978 World Championships, and added bronze medals at the 1973 Europeans and the 1974 and 1977 Worlds. After he stopped competing he became a coach in his hometown of Sombor and President of the town’s sports federation.
