Julio César Gómez was a Uruguayan basketball player who represented the national team during the 1960s. At the 1963 Pan American Games Gómez was part of the squad that finished in fourth place with wins against Peru and Canada. He played in two editions of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, the first in 1963 in Brazil, and the second in 1967 in Uruguay. In 1964 Gómez was on Uruguay’s team at the Tokyo Olympics, playing in nine matches and scoring 25 points.
