Magnus Wassén was co-owner and a crew member of the Swedish boat Hojwa, which was skippered by his older brother Folke Wassén, and which won a bronze medal in the 5.5 m class at the 1952 Olympics. As the 1952 Olympics were also considered the inaugural World Championships in 5.5 m class by the International Yacht Racing Union, the crew of Hojwa were also awarded the World Championships bronze that year.
