Biography

Canadian track and field athlete Ralph Adams represented the Hamilton Olympic Club where he specialised as a sprinter. Adams ran in the 100 and 200 metres at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals in both. He was also part of the 4 × 100 metres relay but the team was disqualified in the final of the event. Two years later he made up for his disappointment at the Olympics by winning gold in the 4 × 110 yards relay at the 1930 British Empire Games in his hometown of Hamilton. Adams also ran in the 220 yards at the Games but was eliminated in the heats. In 1929 he was also the Canadian Champion in the 100 yards and 220 yards.
