Biography

Fabián Velasco was a Spanish track and field athlete who competed in long-distance and cross-country races. Velasco ran in the 3,000 metres team event at the 1924 Paris Olympics where Spain was eliminated in the second of the two opening heats. He also ran in the cross-country race in Paris where he finished 13th, just ahead of compatriot Miguel Peña. Velasco and Peña were the only two Spanish athletes to finish the individual race, with at least three finishers needed to count towards the placings in the team event.
