Jiří “Ada” Pospíšil was a basketball legend in Czechoslovakia, playing at the 1972, 1976, and 1980 Olympics. He also played several times at the World Championships, and in 1977 helped Czechoslovakia win bronze at the European Championships.
Pospíšil played for 14 years at the highest club level in Czechoslovakia, reaching the podium six times. He won three silvers and a bronze with Brno Spartak and one silver and a bronze with Dukla Olomouc. In 1969 he helped Spartak Brno win a silver medal at the Intercontinental Cup. In 2016 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Czech Basketball Federation.
