Jackie Robinson graduated from Baylor University in 1949 and, while there, made the 1948 Olympic team. As a point guard he led Baylor to the 1948 NCAA championship game, which they lost to Kentucky. He later became an ordained Baptist minister, which he made his life’s work, eventually settling in Augusta, Georgia. After graduating from Baylor University, Robinson studied at Southwestern Seminary, Temple University and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and obtained a doctorate in theology. He was awarded honorary doctorate degrees from Baylor University, Howard Paine University, Augusta Law School, and Mercer University.
