Hurdler Doris Eckert became the 1936 German hurdle champion over 80 metres and was runner-up in 1942. She also managed to reach the Olympic final in 1936 at Berlin, but placed sixth, and last, with a time of 12.190. She married in 1942 and retired from athletics due to World War II.
