Andreas Breynck became West German champion in 1907 in the 800 and 1,500 metres, and in 1909 won the 400, 800 and 1,500. He was the first German to run 1,000 metres under 2:40 minutes in 1908. At the 1908 Olympics he was eliminated in the heats of both the 800 and 1,500. He also played as striker on the German national football team in 1910 against Belgium, his only international match.
