Biography

Greek track and field athlete Angelos Lambrou was a talented sprinter who won multiple titles in the 100 and 200 metres. Lambrou was only 16-years-old when he won the 100 metres and 200 metres at the 1928 Panhellenic Athletics Championships. He won further Panhellenic titles in the 100 metres in 1931 and 1934, in addition to finishing second in 1930 and 1936. He also won back-to-back titles in the 100 metres at the Balkan Athletics Championships in 1930 and 1931. Lambrou ran in the 100 metres, 200 metres, and the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, before competing in the 100 metres and the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. Following his athletics career Lambrou lived in the United States where he worked as a journalist, film director, and actor in a handful of Greek movies.
