Umberto Barozzi was an Italian pioneer in sprinting at the beginning of the 20th century. He took part at the 1908 London Olympics but was eliminated in the 100 and 200 metres heats. He began in athletics as a weight-thrower, but soon turned to sprinting. In the 100 metres he was 1906 Italian champion and set the Italian record with 11.2. He won also Italian titles over 400 metres and in the 250 metre hurdles.
