A very versatile athlete, Emilio Brambilla competed at the 1906 Intercalated Games and the 1908 London Olympics. He had started his career as a gymnast with Forza e Coraagio in Milano. Brambilla was considered a careful scholar of athletics, in 1929 publishing a technical book entitled Atletica Leggera, which was a valuable source of study for athletes and coaches in the period before the World War II.
