Biography

Roger Bofferding won his first Luxembourg national athletics title in the 200 metres in 1955. He then won the 400 metres and decathlon events in 1958, followed by the 200 metres in 1959, which led to his selection to represent his country at the 1960 Rome Olympics. There, he was eliminated in the first round of both the 200 metres and the 4x400 metres relay, the latter alongside Felix Heuertz, Norbert Haupert, and Ramon Humbert. Bofferding continued competing nationally, taking the national 400 metres title in 1961, and the 400 metres hurdles title in 1961 and 1962, in addition to winning the pentathlon in 1964. He later worked as a sports teacher.

Personal Bests: 200 – 22.6 (1959); 400 – 49.4 (1959).
