A 1952 graduate of Stanford, Jim Walsh went on to be a star on military teams while a Marine stationed in Quantico, Virginia. He then went on to play with the Phillips’ AAU teams in 1955 and 1956, during which time he was named AAU Player of the Year, and made the Olympic team in 1956. The lure of pro basketball finally caught him, however, and he played 10 games in 1957-1958 with the Philadelphia Warriors. He briefly went on to coach in AAU basketball before beginning a career in the San Francisco area as a tax assessor.
