Carl Fredrik Bunæs

Carl Fredrik Bunæs was one of the best Norwegian sprinters of all-time. Bunæs competed in the 100 and 200 metres at the 1960 Roma Olympics, where he reached the quarter-finals in both events. The following year Bunæs became the Nordic champion in the 100 and 200 metres. He repeated his success in the 100 metres, winning the title again in 1963, and also became the Nordic champion in the 400 metres in 1965. Between 1957 and 1966 Bunæs won a total of 18 individual titles, with five golds in the 100 metres, nine in the 200 metres, and four in the 400 metres. In relay events Bunæs also won 26 gold medals. Bunæs set multiple national records in the 200 and 400 metres. After retiring from athletics Bunæs worked in the graphics industry.
