Biography

South African sprinter Jacobus Wilhelm “Willie” Bukes competed in three events at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. Bukes ran in the 100 metres and 200 metres, reaching the quarter-finals in the former. He was also part of the South African quartet for the 4 × 100 metres relay, but the team finished in third place in their heat and did not advance to the final.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.9e (1920); 200 – 21.8 (1922).
