Biography

William Lindeque was a South African track and field athlete who competed in middle-distance events. Lindeque ran in the 800 metres at the 1936 Berlin Olympics where he finished fifth in his heat with only the top-four progressing to the semi-finals. Along with Willie Botha, Frank Rushton, and Dennis Shore, he was also part of the South African quartet that ran in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the Berlin Games.
