Canadian tennis player Glenn Michibata played professionally from 1983 to 1993. Michibata specialised as a doubles player and was ranked #5 in the world in July 1991. He reached one Grand Slam final and played on Canada’s Davis Cup team from 1982 to 1992. Michibata reached the final of 27 ATP doubles tournaments but only won four of them, with all his victories coming with partner Grant Connell. He and Connell also partnered each other in the doubles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics but lost in the first round.
Michibata never progressed past the second round in singles at Grand Slams but had better success in doubles and mixed doubles. He reached the semi-finals of the French Open and Wimbledon in 1991, and was a finalist at the Australian Open in 1990, again paired with Grant Connell on each occasion. In the mixed doubles he reached the semi-finals at the 1992 US Open and the 1993 Australian Open, each time partnered with Jill Hetherington.
