Jaroslav Vykoupil was a Czechoslovak track and field athlete who won multiple titles and set several national records in sprint events. Vykoupil ran in his first district competition in 1920 and by 1923 he had become the Czechoslovak record holder in the 200 metres. The following year he was selected to represent Czechoslovakia at the 1924 Paris Olympics in the 100 metres and the 4 x 100 metres relay, but did not start in either race. Later the same year he had broken the Czechoslovak record in the 300 metres and was part of the winning 4 x 100 metres relay team at the same athletics meet. In 1925 he became the national champion in both the 100 and 400 metres, winning another title in the latter in 1930. Vykoupil ran in the 100, 200, 400, and 4 x 400 metres relay races at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, advancing to the quarter-finals in the 100 metres. After World War II he became a noted trainer and instructor and was awarded with the Meritorious Master of Sports in 1953.
Personal Bests: 100 – 10.9 (1925); 200 – 22.6 (1928); 400 – 50.0 (1925).
