Biography

Semih Türkdoğan was a Turkish track and field athlete who represented Galatasaray Sports Club. Türkdoğan specialised in sprinting and set four national records in the 100 metres, with his time of 10.6 seconds set in August 1935 standing for 25 years before it was bettered. He ran in the 100 metres and the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but did not advance from the heats in either race. Türkdoğan later served on the board of the Turkish Athletics Federation and coached the national athletics team at the 1948 London Olympics.
