Biography

Sergey Dyomin was a Soviet track and field athlete who specialised in the pole vault. In 1964 Dyomin won bronze in the event at the all-union championships in Moskva before winning silver at the national championships in Kyiv. These performances earned him a place on the Soviet team for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. At the Games he cleared 4.60 metres in the qualifying round before tying for 15th in the final with a best clearance of 4.40 metres.
