Biography

Rena MacDonald was a weight thrower for the Boston Swimming Association and the Boston Olympic Club. She won three AAU outdoor titles, shot put in 1929-30, and the discus in 1929, and seven AAU indoor shot titles, in 1927, and 1929-34. MacDonald was born in Nova Scotia, but became a naturalized US citizen in 1925. She settled in Pittsfield, in western Massachusetts, where she worked as a swimming instructor at the Pittsfield Girls’ Club and was employed at Elmvale Worsted Co.

Personal Bests: SP – 40-11i [12.47] (1934); DT – 113-4 [34.54] (1929).
