Hec Dyer ran the third leg on the 1932 Olympic sprint relay team that set a new world record in both the heats and the final. His best mark for 100y was 9.6, when he won the dual meet against Southern Cal in April of 1930. Dyer made his living as an oil leaser in California, Texas, North Dakota, and the Pacific Northwest.
