Biography

Brian Hyde was a middle-distance runner who competed in the 1,500 metres at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Hyde ran in college at the College of William and Mary, where his best finish at the NCAA Meet was seventh in 1995, as a junior. He had the fastest 1,500 time in the world going into that NCAAs, having run 3:35.84 a few weeks before. Hyde finished fifth at the 1996 US Olympic Trials, but was the third fastest runner who had a qualifying time, which put him on the team. He ran professionally for only one year after the Olympics and then retired.
