Representing the Chicago AA, Ed Lindberg won the AAU 440y in 1909 and 1911. At the 1912 Olympics he set a career best of 48.4 in placing third in the 400m and was a member of the winning relay team that took almost two seconds off the world record. Lindberg attended the University of Illinois. Lindberg also competed in the 1912 Olympic Baseball demonstration event.
