Sunder Nix was a 400 metre runner who ran that event at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, and helped the US win gold in the 4x400 relay. He also won a bronze medal in the 400 metres at the 1983 World Championships.
Nix ran in college at Indiana University where he was third in the 400 at the 1983 NCAA Meet, finishing fourth in 1984. He won the 1983 TAC Meet 400, and then finished third at the 1984 Olympic Trials to make the US team. His best year was 1983 when he was ranked #1 in the United States and #2 in the world in the 400 metres. Nix later continued to compete in masters’ meets.
