While at Cornell, Honey Russell won three IC4A sprint titles and in 1926 he had a double victory in the Princeton/ Cornell vs. Oxford/Camb ridge match. Although he was generally considered to be at his best over the longer sprint, he placed third in the 100m at the 1928 Final Trials. In Amsterdam, Russell was eliminated in the semi-finals of the 100m, but he ran a fine anchor leg in the relay to give the U.S. a narrow victory over the German quartet.
Personal Best: 100 – 10.7e (1928).
