Şinasi Şahingiray’s sole appearance at the Olympics as a track athlete came in 1928 in Amsterdam, when he was eliminated in the first rounds of both the 100 metres and the 4x100 metres relay, in the latter alongside Semih Türkdoğan, Haydar Aşan, and Mehmet Ali Aybar. Although he set Turkish national records in the 200 metres and 4x100 metres relay, he was better known as an architect, having graduated from the Istanbul Fine Arts Academy during his athletics career. Among his more notable projects as a designer are BJK İnönü Stadium, Ali Sami Yen Stadium, and the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center.
