Biography

Carine Borner was a Swiss figure skater who was active during the mid-1950s. In January 1956 Borner finished 15th in the ladies singles at the European Championships in Paris to earn herself a place on the Olympic team for the Cortina d’Ampezzo Games. At the Games she finished 16th in the singles before placing 17th at the World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany only a few weeks later. She also won bronze at the Richmond Trophy in Twickenham, London in 1956. Borner’s father, Karl, was a track sprinter who competed at the 1924 Paris Olympics.
