At Austrian nationals, Sengstschmid was overshadowed by Regine Heitzer and finished in second and third places but never won a title. She later studied sports and English and became a teacher. Together with her husband Peter Tunner she participated in the Semperit Rallye in 1965. In later years, she occasionally acted as a figure skating coach.
