Nicole Grether was a German badminton player who was eliminated in the third round of the singles and second round of the women’s doubles (partnering with Karin Stechmann) at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In 2004, she partnered with Juliane Schenk and again reached the second round. In total, Grether won 106 international caps. Domestically, she played with TSG Schopfheim, BC Brombach, SSV Heiligenwald, SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen (whom she helped to win three national championships), and Empor Brandenburger Tor Berlin. In total, Grether won 27 national titles.
From 2011, Grether represented Canada at international level. In 2012 and 2013 she won both the Boston Open and Brazil International. In 2015, Grether retired and moved back to Germany. She founded her own sports shop at Schopfheim and organized sports and company events. She also worked as a badminton coach.
